More than just a pub.....

 Loving live and local music

The Brook Inn is more than just a pub. Primarily it's a music venue that also provides great food and drink and a very warm welcome.

Music is a HUGE part of what we do - we absolutely love it!

We regularly offer a platform for talented local musicians to take to the stage - and we positively encourage original material as well as the usual covers (we've some prolific songwriters here in the South West!).

In 2016 we were awarded the title BEST VENUE in the Devon Performance Awards.

Earlier that same year we won £5,000 in a national competition staged by the Performing Rights Society; money that we used to enhance our live music offerings by installing a purpose built stage, new PA and lighting equipment, allowing performers to showcase their talents in a much more professional surrounding.

And when there's no live music on stage, you can expect to hear local artists featuring in our playlist on the pub stereo.

From open mic nights to live performances, unplugged acoustic jam sessions to guitar lessons, The Brook Inn at Plympton St Maurice is your local venue for live entertainment.

A bit about The Brook...

The Brook Inn was built in 1974 and has had a fairly chequered history since. It's fair to say that the venue has had more than its fair share of ups and downs and when John and Ian took over the reins on 7th April 2014 it was in need of a lot of TLC!

Their aim was (and remains) simple; to position the pub at the very heart of the local community and provide a venue for accessible live entertainment. John is a former BBC Radio producer and presenter and has spent many years championing local musicians.

It took the best part of three long years to build the business up, a challenge that was well worth it considering it now boasts awards for its service, its entertainment and its food.

We're also dog and family friendly (we suggest a 9pm curfew for children under 18 years old).

Click HERE for a look at our menu, which is available from Monday - Saturday, both lunch and dinner. On Sundays we serve roast lunches from midday - 2pm and then close the restaurant in the evening and offer a very simple bar snack menu which allows us to get ready for our busy quiz or open mic night (which alternate each week).

Although we embrace spontaneity, we always advise table bookings whenever possible. For parties of 8 or more we ask you to pre-order your menu choices at least 24 hours in advance - and for 20 or more we will happily devise a bespoke menu for your guests. This helps to ensure a smooth and speedy service, not just for you and your guests but for our other diners too.

Please call us to discuss your individual requirements.

The Brook is well known for its good, homely food, real ales, live entertainment and friendly staff. However, we don't profess to get everything right 100% of the time (anyone who has never made a mistake has never made anything) so we welcome constructive feedback from our customers. It's what helps us to grow stronger - so please let us know if you have ideas for improvements. And if - as we hope - you have an enjoyable visit, please feel free to add your views to TripAdvisor.

From murder mystery to open mic nights, wedding receptions to morris dancing, art lessons to Tai Chi - The Brook Inn is the place to be!
